This Privacy Policy explains how Brutus ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use Slate, our candidate write-up tool available at slate-deck.com (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
We use the information to provide and operate the Service, generate write-ups for you, process payments, send sign-in links and important account messages, respond to your support requests, and maintain the security and integrity of the Service.
To generate a write-up, the job description, resume, notes, and format samples you provide are sent to a third-party artificial intelligence provider that produces the draft text. This processing happens only to create your write-up. We do not sell your content, and we do not use your candidates' information for advertising.
We rely on a small set of trusted providers to run the Service, and they process data only on our behalf:
Slate is a professional tool, and the content you enter may include personal information about candidates or other individuals. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to provide that information and to have it processed to create your write-ups. We process it solely to provide the Service to you.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections, and access is restricted so that each account can only reach its own content. While no online service can promise perfect security, we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
We keep your content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information by emailing us using the address below. Deleting your account removes your associated content.
The Service and its providers operate primarily in the United States, and your information may be processed there.
We use only what is needed to keep you signed in and to remember minor interface preferences on your device. We do not use advertising trackers.
The Service is intended for use by adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above, and significant changes may be communicated to you.
